Hanging Out With: Carol & Peter Gittinger

As the vibrant energy of New York City enveloped us, we seized the opportunity to not only explore this iconic destination but also to celebrate a special moment. We met with Peter and Carol in the heart of Central Park, a picturesque oasis amidst the urban hustle, where we gathered to chat and have a good time. Surrounded by the gentle rustle of leaves and the laughter of park-goers, the atmosphere was perfectly romantic. It was the ideal backdrop for a delightful conversation, sharing stories and experiences while basking in the charm of the Big Apple.

During our chat, we explored their favorite activities in the city, from iconic landmarks to local dining gems. They shared their passion for museums and the joy of connecting with other members and employees of PTC, it’s what makes their NYC experiences so special. We also talked about their upcoming travel plans, including a dream trip to Spain.

Q: How often do you find yourselves in New York City?

We make it to NYC about two or three times a year, and each visit feels like a new adventure!

Q: What are some of your favorite activities while you’re in the city?

We love to immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere. Strolling through Times Square is always a highlight, and we can’t resist catching a Broadway show like Wicked and The Lion King are definitely our top picks!

Q: What attractions do you enjoy the most?

Carol have a soft spot for museums! We’ve explored the American Museum of Natural History, MoMA, the Space Museum, and the Body Museum. Each visit is a chance to discover something new.

Q: What do you love most about New York City?

The iconic landmarks really capture our hearts. From the breathtaking views at the Empire State Building to the historic grandeur of Grand Central Terminal and the inspiring Statue of Liberty, there’s so much to admire. We also enjoy relaxing in Central Park with a Krispy Kreme donut and coffee, watching the world go by, it’s a perfect moment.

Q: Do you connect with others during your visits?

Absolutely! We often meet up with other members in the city. Actually Nareeza a member of the PTC is on her way here so yes, when we come here we have dinner with her and her family. Sharing dinner and stories with them adds so much to our experience. Plus, we’ve met wonderful employees from various Palladium that when they come here they make our visits even more enjoyable.

Q: What local spots do you recommend?

You can’t miss Ellen’s Stardust Diner! It’s a unique experience, the waitstaff are incredible singers and dancers, and the energy is infectious. It’s well worth the wait!

Another must-see is the Apollo Theater. It’s an iconic venue that hosts everything from comedy nights to legendary concerts. The history there is palpable, having seen performances from stars like Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin!

Q: What makes these visits special for you?

We truly cherish the time spent with members and staff. Building those connections turns our travels into a family experience, filled with laughter and shared memories.

Q: Any exciting travel plans on the horizon?

We’re thrilled to be planning a trip to Spain! I’ve been daydreaming about visiting Ibiza for the first time. We’re excited to stay at the Grand Palladium Ibiza and explore the beauty of the island.

Q: Do you have a message for your fellow travelers?

Here’s a thought for everyone: Don’t wait too long to do something special for yourself. Many of us put off treating ourselves, but those unique moments can slip away. Embrace the chance to do something good for yourself, and don’t worry about perfection. Instead, focus on finding those perfect moments in life. Just enjoy the journey!
