The biggest celebration takes place in the Zócalo of Mexico City on the night of September 15 with flags and typical dresses, to enjoy concerts, food, and various events, while waiting for the famous Scream of Independence at midnight.
Around 11 at night the President of the Mexican Republic and his family go out to the presidential balcony of the National Palace, wave the national flag while they acclaim the heroes of the country and then sing the national anthem:
“Mexicans! Long live the heroes who gave us a homeland! Long live Hidalgo! Long live Morelos! Long live Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez! Long live Allende! Long live Aldama! Long live Mexico!”
Followed by a fireworks display and Mexican music.
